Ambulances

Silver Lake Rescue has two ambulances in our fleet. Every 10 to 15 years we replace our ambulances in order to keep our fleet up to date and to make sure our ambulances are in top notch working order.  With this rotation schedule we eliminate large repair bills and ensure our rigs are ready to roll when you need them.  Money that we collect from transports is used for the purchase of new equipment so the villages and towns we service are never hit with unexpected equipment purchases which helps to keep taxes down for emergency services in the communities we serve. In 2013 we received a $24,000 grant for the purchase of two new power assisted cots.  These new cots allow us to now handle patients weighing up to 750lbs.  Back injuries are the number one cause of injury to EMS workers and with this new technology we strive to keep both our patients and EMTs from being hurt. In addition to medical supplies, 6242 also has a set of JAWS for patient extrication. Typically Silver Lake Rescue is dispatched with the fire department, but if the FD is delayed, or there are multiple vehicles involved, Silver Lake Rescue has the ability to extricate patients as well as treat them on scene.
